ABOUT US

TLC SOAPS came about like all good home craft company’s do, because we needed a soap that would not irritate either my already damaged skin from a face mask, or my children’s skin from their eczema caused from a milk allergy.

My reaction, which sent my entire body into shock, was from an aloe vera face mask, but it was not the aloe vera that caused the problem, but the synthetic preservative that was required in the product to keep it in a warehouse (for possibly years) before it went to the shop shelves.

My children are allergic to cows milk, soya milk and soya lecithin. They both have continuing eczema as these milk products are in so many foods these days.

"Synthetic residues are no longer left on our skin"

What we have found by developing and using our own natural soap is that synthetic residues are no longer left on our skin, therefore overnight our skin is able to renew and repair its self naturally.

Previously, when our skin became warm at night, our sweat would mix with the residue left from bathing products and irritate our skin while we slept, we in turn would scratch the irritation and prevent the natural healing process occurring.

So this is what happened. After being treated by a homeopath for a number of years for our ailments, she decided to make four natural soaps to compliment her homeopathy, but in early 2005 she left the U.K. for Australia. I bought six months supply of her soap and in return she gave me the name of the book she had used to learn how to make soap & the name of a supplier of natural soap making products, she then disappeared off into the sun!

Long story short, I spent three months researching natural soap making and then took the plunge and made my first batch of 3 types of soap. Since then I haven’t stopped. The word got around via playground mums, who wanted the best for their children’s skin and to have the opportunity to pamper themselves at an affordable price, so in September 2005 TLC Soaps was born.

I now make 20 different types of soap, 11 in 60g bars and nine in 80g bars, all of which have only natural ingredient.
